- Ma'had ‘Aliy Al-Aimmah is one of the higher education institutions based on Islam that has a library as a provider of books that are in accordance with the needs of santri. Libraries as service providers to visitors need services that are comfortable, easy and efficient. But the obstacles experienced in the Ma'had library ‘Aliy Al-Aimmah are in the process of managing the data books that are still manual while the number of books is increasing so often library managers often experience errors in book collection. Visitors have difficulty finding information on the availability of books and the location of books because visitors must search the entire bookshelf. This is certainly an obstacle for library managers and library visitors. One of the uses of advances in information technology that can be utilized in the library field is the development of digital library applications. With the application of digital libraries, libraries are easier to manage existing book data and for visitors it will be easier to find the desired book, but other problems the library does not understand the digital library application system. The author tries to help the library in understanding it through designing a digital library application prototype. The design of this prototype draws the workings of an application system that resembles a real digital library application. This study produced a web-based digital library software prototype.
