  • Bacground: Progressive muscle relaxation exercise is a relaxation method of exercise therapy which combine deep breathing exercise and some muscles contraction. The exercise is carried out in 7 days continously with duration of 30 minutes per day, there are 11 kinds of movements which are repeated about 2 repetitions. Progressive muscular relaxation exercise aims to decrease the problems in health, including non-specific low back pain which is often experienced by elderly. Methods: Design in this research used quasi experimental with one group pre-test post-test. The respondents in the reseach were 30 persons with purposive sampling technique. The instruments that used in this research is Numeric Rating Scale. Data analiysis using by SPSS 23 with normality test Saphiro-Wilk and Wilcoxon test. Result: The result of research data with Wilcoxon test in non-specific low back pain scale of elderly obtained value of significance 0,000, then H0 refused. Conclusion: There is effect of Progressive Muscular Relaxation Exercise for decrease non-specific low back pain of elderly in Kelurahan Bunulrejo Malang.
