- The design of the plate structure in this study is based on the construction of Disaster Laboratory of Civil Engineering of Brawijaya University Malang, in which the structure of the plate is changed from the column-beam to the column-plate with flat slab type and the addition of shear wall as the earthquake-resistant structure. According to the design, the flat slab type should be observed based on the earthquake zone and the building’s height in order to gain maximum result and to avoid exceeding the permit control. The analysis was begun with the preliminary design by calculating the combination of loading between the dead load, live load, and seismic load based on the Indonesian National Standard. The analysis output using the staadpro application showed that the total deviation was 34,55 mm with a drift ratio of 0,00127 < 0,0025. Thus, the upper structure of the building has fulfilled the security control. The thickness of the shear wall was designed to be 250-mm length on each side of the building. The thickness of the plate was designed to be 120 mm-length. Meanwhile, the design of the thickness of the drop panel was 200 mm-length.
