- This study discusses the relationship created by a teenager broken home in the surrounding environment that affects the quality of life of the teenager. An environment that is able to influence the formation of self-concept of a teenager is broken home like family, people who are around, including close friends or close friends. The theory used in this study is more than one. The theory is Social Penetration and also the Self-Disclousure theory. Where penetration theory has four stages and also requires the theory of self-disclosure to support the occurrence of the stages of penetration theory. Social Penetration Theory and the Self-Disclousure theory are concerned with interpersonal communication that occurs in society, including communication that occurs in adolescents broken home. The research method used is a case study with a qualitative approach and descriptive type. Data obtained from the results of in-depth interviews, literature studies, online data search, and documentation. Data collection techniques in this study using Purposive Sampling, in data analysis using three stages, through the stages of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The results showed that the self-concept of a broken home teenager was formed because of interpersonal communication that took place every day with his close friends. Indeed, relations created by both through several stages, namely, Orientation, Effective Assessment Exchange, Affective Exchange, and Stable Exchange. Interpersonal communication that is intertwined with close friends creates a close relationship and intimacy of good relationships, from the incident the broken home teenager realized that the presence of his friend had a good impact on his life.
