  • News in the media tends to corner children as victims, news of violence is criminal news that has its own selling points. Sexual violence on children does not occur in women only but in men. Based on this, this study looks at whether there is an effect of exposure to news of child sexual violence and how much influence the protective attitude of parents to children. This study uses the theory of hypodermic needles. This study uses a type of quantitative research with explanatory survey methods. The research subjects were parents of the Dadaprejo Village in Batu City who were determined using simple random sampling. Data collection uses questionnaire and documentation techniques. Data analysis was carried out by classical assumption and simple linear regression analysis. The results of partial hypothesis testing produce a value of Tcount 11,474> 1,985 T table, or sig t (0,000) <(0,05), so the effect of variable X on Y is significant. This means that H0 is rejected H1 is accepted, so it can be concluded that exposure to violence news has a significant influence on parental protective attitudes partially.
