- This study examines the ex community empowerment of drug users. This empowerment focuses on program for ex drug users. The purpose of this study was to find out the ex community based drug uses qualitative research with a type of descriptive approach where the research data is based on data found in the field. The subject of this study was the advocate of empowerment and latern friends. Data collection techniques used are observation, interviews and documenttuon. The analysis technique is done by interactive model. The results of this indicate that the ex community empowerment of drug based users conducted in the community gubuk baca anak alam emphasizes more on individuals acquiring skills and knowledge. Empowerment includes all aspects, namely social, economic, environmental, cultural and spiritual. Empowerment carried out through stages namely 1) preparation stage, includes socialization, selection of places and formation of administrators. 2) assessment phase 3) planning stage 4 ) implementation 5) evaluation and monitoring. The approach taken by the family approach. The empowerment programs carried out include making stills, hut huts, welding skills, garbage banks and distribution of work. Ex drug user empowerment programs work together with PT.ASTRA.
