- This study examines the patterns of social interaction of deaf speech in the Kartika Mutiara Community,in Kec. Pakisaji, Kab. Malang. The purpose of this study was to describe the pattern of interaction and identify the forms of social interaction that appeared in the deaf speeches in the Kartika Mutiara Community, Kec. Pakisaji, Kab. Malang This research uses qualitative research methods with descriptive research types. Data collection techniques used in this study were observation, interview, and documentation techniques. While the sampling technique used is saturated sampling. The data analysis techniques in this study include data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the patterns of deaf and social interaction in the Kartika Mutiara Community can be interwoven and cannot be intertwined, by communicating with each other verbally and non-verbally. Deaf social interactions that are intertwined are associative and dissociative with patterns or forms (1) Collaboration that is manifested in the activities of working on mutual problems, feedback in the learning process, and helping parents in homework. (2) Assimilation, mixed deaf children with non-deaf friends and good reception from non-deaf friends. (3) Positive competition, compete to complete tasks quickly. And (4) Contradictions manifest in a fight. This non-intertwined social interaction is shown by subjects who have not been able to communicate with other deaf friends, teachers, and non-deaf friends. Communication that is established is manifested verbally and non-verbally, namely pronunciation and gesture.
