  • Need analysis was conducted by the researcher at SDN 03 Sukomulyo Pujon Batu on October 4, 2018, and showed that there was mathematics learning process limitation in the nets of solid figures material. It occurs due to the lack of media usage in the learning process. The media used in the learning process only depend on the picture that portraits in the book and some paper cut of HVS with nets of solid shape. According to the explanation before, the situation creates the student less active in the learning process due to the lack of student interest. In order to enhance the student activity and creativity, the school needs Ferris Wheel Media on Nets of Solid Figures Using Open Ended Approach for Fifth Grade Elementary School Students. The aims of this research are : (1) to describe the development of Ferris Wheel Media on Nets of Solid Figures Using Open Ended Approach for Fifth Grade Elementary School Students. The researcher employed ADDIE model development with five steps namely, Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. This research established at SDN 03 Sukomulyo Pujon Batu with 21 students. The data collection techniques were applying interview, questionnaire, and documentation. The analysis technique was employing qualitative descriptive analysis and quantitative analysis. The result of the research points out that: (1) after the researcher did the development of Ferris Wheel Media on Nets of Solid Figures through the media and material experts validation showed that, the media can be tested without revision. This result can be indicated by the acquisition of a percentage of media experts by 80% and by material experts with 81%. (2) The usage of Ferris Wheel Media on Nets of Solid Figures gained good response proven with the percentage of student questionnaire result until 83% at SDN 03 Sukomulyo Pujon Batu. This learning media still have many shortcomings, such as the learning material that only includes nets of solid figures material. By the existence of this research development, the researcher hopes that it can be used as a reference for future researchers in developing learning media, especially on mathematics learning in elementary schools.
