- Social media is a technology that provides facilities for social interaction. But the increasing intensity of social media use causes a decrease in social skills. This encourages adolescents to establish intimacy with their peers. However, many teenagers experience difficulties in establishing relationships with their peers and have less social maturity. Teenagers with less social maturity try to find social support using social media. This study aims to determine the relationship between social maturity and the intensity of accessing social media in adolescents. The benefits of this research are to help find the reason for the high intensity of accessing social media, and to see the current level of social maturity of adolescents. The subjects in this study amounted to 171 teenagers. This research is a correlational study, with sampling techniques using accidental sampling. Data analysis using product moment correlational analysis. The results showed that there was no significant relationship between social maturity and the intensity of accessing social media (r = - 0.094) with significance (p = 0.220> 0.05).
