Daftar Isi:
- A large number of online media portals that have not been verified than those that have been verified by the Press Council in Indonesia, has caused people to be selective in choosing readings in online media. The existence of online media portals that apply the rules of data journalism, as well as digital literacy which are vigorously campaigned by the Indonesian Government, can make students more selective in choosing their reading material. For this reason, the researcher is interested in conducting research with the aim to determine whether there was an influence and how much the exposure of data journalism influence on online media portals to digital literacy on students. This study uses quantitative methods with explanatory research types. The sampling technique used was total sampling where there were 83 students of the University of Muhammadiyah Malang Communication Journalism concentration class of 2015. While the data were obtained from questionnaire-shaped instruments that were distributed to students who were respondents to the study. In addition to questionnaires, data is supported by secondary data in the form of books, e-books, scientific journals and articles, and online searches. After the data is collected, the validity and reliability are analyzed, then a simple linear regression test and t-test are carried out. Researchers use the S-R theory to explain the phenomena and results of research. From the results of data analysis obtained the coefficient of determination (R2) of 0,581, it can be concluded that there is an influence between data journalism exposure in the online media portal (X) on digital literacy on students (Y), with a magnitude of 58,1% and the remaining 41,9% is influenced by other variables that is not discussed in this study. From the SPSS Coefficients table, the constant number of Unstandardized Coefficients = 6,780 and the regression coefficient number = 0,548. That is, digital literacy (Y) will increase by 0,548 units for each additional unit of data journalism exposure (X), with the regression equation Y = 6,780 + 0,548X.
