- The writing of this law explains related to the implementation of compensation claims that can be made by the society towards sand mining companies (Excavation C) which in the implementation of mining activities result in loss and damage to the environment in terms of Law No. 32 of 2009 concerning Environmental Protection and Management. The method used in this legal research was by using a sociological juridical approach method, meaning that a study was conducted directly to find out the real situation and to find out the facts that occur (fact-finding).The results of the study found that there were negative impacts or losses received by the society from the existence of sand mining (Excavation C) as well as environmental damage around the mining site. The negative impact is detrimental to society and the environment, related to losses caused by the implementation of excavation of sand mining C, mining companies provide compensation as a form of accountability for the negative impacts caused.The compensation is carried out by a sand mining company (Excavation C) as an effort to fulfill compensation to thesociety, as well as the implementation of reclamation and rehabilitation conducted by sand mining companies (Excavation C) is an effort to repair the damage to the environment.Suggestion, that firms sand mining must pay attention to every execution of mining activities in order not to further damage the environment and harm to the community around the mine site, the public should pay more attention to each of the activities carried out by implementing business activities, so that in the future related to the environment around the community is not damaged more severe due to the excavation of sand mining activities C, which is still running.
