  • The implementation of character education in Indonesia needs to be done because of the many social problems that occur in the Indonesian nation, especially among students. Character education also aims to prepare humans to compete against 21st century competencies. One way to instill character education in schools by integrating it into subjects in the process of learning activities, so it is necessary to examine the implementation of PPK in learning activities. This study aims to determine: (1) planning the implementation of character education-based learning in the lower classes in SDN Mojolangu 5 Malang, (2) the implementation of character-based learning in low classes in SDN Mojolangu 5 Malang, (3) assessment of character education-based learning in class low in SDN Mojolangu 5 Malang. This study uses a type of qualitative research with descriptive methods. The data sources in this study included principals, low grade teachers, namely 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grader, as well as documents including syllabus and RPP. This research was conducted from January to February 2019 through interviews with informants, namely principals and teachers, observation during learning activities in the classroom, as well as documentation of school documents or teachers related to character education. The results of this study indicate that the character education values that contain five characters have been integrated in learning activities through the activities of planning, implementing, and evaluating learning in the lower classes of SDN Mojolangu 5 Malang. Planting character values in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grader is the same in terms of focusing planting on students' character and religious knowledge because character education occupies the highest position in the learning process. Based on the results of this study, it is recommended that SDN Mojolangu 5 Malang and classroom teachers always prioritize aspects of student character education for the next generation that is more moral and dignified.
