- The learning process in the class is still using a conventional approach which is teacher centered learning.This study aims to develop the Balekambang mock-up media which is it can demonstrate the water cycle material and the utilization of the water cycle as contained in theme 8 of sub-theme 1. The Balekambang mock-up media raised the concept of Balekambang beach because the shape structure was suitable for conveying water cycle material and the media concept is fit with the learning environment conditions along with promoting the local wisdom of Malang Regency. The purpose of this study is 1) Describe the development of the Balekambang maket media for class V thematic learning theme 8 sub-themes 1. 2) Know the effectiveness of the Balekambang maket media on the achievement of fifth grade students Researces use ADDIE development model which stands for Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. Researces is done at Pujon Kidul 2 Elementary School with 29 students as participants. The research was conducted on February, 11th to February, 12th February 2019. Data collection techniques used are observation, interview, questionnaire, and documentation. Data analysis technique used simple quantitative and qualitative descriptive analysis. The results of the research and development of the Balekambang mock-up media obtained an excellent result for media feasibility, which is tested through the validation of learning materials with the results of 96% percentage along with proper information and without revision. Then, it gets 94% for the validation of learning media with proper information with slight revisions. The Balekambang mock-up media also received a very good response from the users which can be seen from the results of the student and teacher questionnaire responses with both gets 97% for the results. The Balekambang mock-up media is beneficial toward the student learning outcomes as proved by the results of the pretest which is getting 57% with sufficient effectiveness categories, then the posttest results showed 77% results with good effectiveness categories after learning using the Balekambang mock-up media. The conclusion taken from Balekambang mock-up media development research points out that the Balekambang mock-up media is very feasible to use, and have good effect on the student learning outcomes.
