Daftar Isi:
- Tea pulp and rice water contains organic compounds that can be used as a nutrient for plant. The carbohydrate content in rice water is the intermediary for the formation of auxin hormones and gibberellins as growth regulators. Tea pulp contains N elements that are easily absorbed by plants, therefore, it can spur vegetative growth in plants, such as, stems, roots and leaves. Yet, there is lack of study about the effect of tea pulp combine with rice water on the growth of lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.) specifically in hydroponic media. This study aims to determine the effect of tea pulp combine with rice water on the growth of lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.) in hydroponic media. This type of research is True Experimental Research with research design The Post Test Only Control Group Design. This study used a non-factorial Completely Randomized Design (RAL) with 4 treatments and 6 replications. The treatments used in this study were 300 ml (P1), 300 ml water with 3 grams of tea pulp (P2), 300 ml of rice water (P3), and 3 grams of tea pulp with 300 ml of rice water (P4). The rice water used is the first rice washing water. The research parameters were fresh weight (grams) and the number of leaves (strands) of lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.) for about one month. The data analysis technique used in this study was One Path Anova and Duncan test 5%. The results showed that there was an effect of tea pulp with rice water on hydroponic growing media to the growth of lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.). Fresh weight and good number of leaves on plants with 3 grams of tea pulp and 300 ml of rice washing water produce an average fresh weight and number of leaves of 10.82 grams and 7 strands. The results of this study can be used as learning resources for Biology High School / MA.
