- SDN Sumbersari 2 Malang is one of inclusion schools in Malang City. There are several students with special needs experience learning disability. The purpose of this study was to examine (1) the characteristics of students’ problems in reading, writing, and counting skills; (2) the teacher’s roles in solving student’s problems in reading, writing, and counting skill; (3) the teacher’s problems in teaching students with reading, writing, and counting difficulties; and (4) the teacher’s solution in teaching students with reading, writing, and counting difficulties. This study primarily applied qualitative with descriptive design. The subjects involved were special tutors at SDN Sumbersari 2 Malang. The data were collected by means observation, interview, and documentation. The stages of data analysis were data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusion. Moreover, the data were analyzed by using source and technique trianggulasitions. The results of the study revealed that (1) the characteristics of students’ problems in reading. writing. and counting skills conist of spelling problem, mistyping letter and number, and mathematics problem; (2) the teacher’s roles in solving student’s problems in reading, writing, and counting skills are designing lesson plan, administering fprmal and non-formal tests, enhancing students’ motivation in learning, suggesting the students to take another course outside the school activity, and providing learning media; (3) the teacher’s problems in teaching students with reading, writing, and counting difficulties are long period of time needed to explain the materials, lack of motivation, and concentration problem; and (4) the teacher’s solutions in teaching students with reading, writing, and counting difficulties consist of teacher giving the time to play in the middle of learning process and teacher’s suggestion to take another course outside the school activity.
