- The research aimed to define this topic because students who are taking English Language Department often face many activities in the classroom, especially delivering presentation by using English in front of the class. In addition, we have noticed that many students still get a lot of difficulties during presenting by applying English. Thus, this study is investigated on English speaking difficulties in classroom presentation faced by Thai students at University of Muhammadiyah Malang. There are two research problems, they are: (1) What are the difficulties faced by Thai students in classroom presentation? (2) How do Thai students eliminate their difficulties in classroom presentation? The purposes of the study are: (1) To find out the difficulties faced by Thai students in classroom presentation. (2) To find out the way Thai students eliminate their difficulties in classroom presentation. The researcher used descriptive qualitative as the research design. The instruments used to gain and analyze the data in this research are open-ended questionnaire and semi-structured interview. In addition, the researcher did gathering all data of difficulties in classroom presentation of Thai students by giving them filling up the questionnaire. Moreover, in order to elicit more data about how Thai students handle those issues, this research used semi-structured interview. From the result of data collection was proved, there were some issues in English speaking difficulties in classroom presentation faced by Thai students at University of Muhammadiyah Malang. The result of questionnaire had five difficulties, they were feeling anxiety, grammar mistakes, improper pronunciation, less vocabulary and less confident. The way to overcome those issues based on the interview, they were bringing note, focusing on speaking fluency more than grammar, trying to imitate native speakers’ accent, using new vocabulary to communicate with friends and make some jokes to reduce feeling less confident.
