  • The ideal marriage will give birth to goodness if it meets all aspects that support and are able to maintain what is the purpose of marriage. However, if the intention is based on a goal that is not good, it will give birth to independence. This study examines how maqashid syari'ah views on matters relating to the marriage procession from a marriage traditions (merarik) carried out by the sasak community in Lombok. The purpose of this study was to analyze the procession of a marriage traditions (merarik) conducted by the sasak community in Lombok from the beginning to the end in terms of maqashid syari'ah. The type of research used in this case is descriptive qualitative, which focuses on the descriptive approach and is supported by the interview method directly in the field. The results of this study are as follows: first, the traditional procession eloping or pulling is known through various processions, namely memaling (stealing), pesebo'an (sebo'), mesejati, selabar, demanding guardian, temple of promise, pushing forward aji krame, squatting and bales honos nae. Secondly, this review of the maqashid shari'ah in terms of traditional marriages of running away is concluded by the existence of elements which contradict the maqashid shari'ah such as (hifz al-Din), (hifz al-Nasl) and (hifz al-Nafs), especially again which concerns the benefit of being the principle of the maqashid shari'ah itself.
