  • This research is motivated to discover a lack of thematic learning media and to help stimulate childrens’ skill, especially in math summation skills in 1th grade of SDN Dadaprejo 2 Batu City, East Java. This is based on the analysis of needs obtained at the interview on October 23, 2018 with a 1th grade teacher at SDN Dadaprejo 2 Batu City. For this reason, there is a need for media that can create a pleasant learning atmosphere and can help students to understand the information or material conveyed by the teacher in thematic learning media that is magic bag learning media. This research aims to 1) develop appropriate learning media which included valid, effective, and interesting criteria.This research and development use ADDIE development model there are 5 stages including Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The data analysis techniques in this study are qualitative and quantitative and the data collection techniques that used in this study are obeservation, interview, questionnaire, and documentation. Based on the results of research that conducted by using magic bag learning media toward the numeracy skills in thematic learning theme 2 subtheme 1 shows the percentage of assessment of media validation test is 87.5% with qualification valid criteria and feasible to use. While the the percentage of validation of material experts is 84% and the percentage of validation of material experts is 85%. The result of effectiveness are taken from the results of student responses which show an average percentage that is 85.45% and teacher’s respons achieve 96,87% percentage with interesting criteria. It can be concluded that the development of magic bag learning media on numeracy skills in thematic learning theme 2 sub-theme 1 class 1 are valid, effective, and interesting to use in the learning process. In this study it is suggested that the media which has been developed can be used as thematic learning media theme 2 sub-theme 1 class 1.
