- Human as a social being is always doing social interactions at all times in the entire aspects of their lives. Chiefly in adolescence which has more social interaction with peers. Nevertheless dealing with uncertainty in the future social situation and fears of the possibility of being publicly humiliated, individuals will become worried to interact with their associates. The goal of this study was to determine the effect of Intolerance of Uncertainty on Social Anxiety in adolescents. This study uses a correlation research design with a sampling technique that is simple random sampling, with the subjects of the 520 study being adolescents aged 14-19 years. The instrument in this study uses the scale of Intolerance Of Uncertainty Scale (IUS-12) and Social Phobia Inventory (SPIN). Data analysis using simple linear regression test. The outcome showed that there was an influence of Intolerance of Uncertainty on Social Anxiety in adolescents. The regression coefficient (r) is 0.443 with a value of p = 0,000 <0.05. This shows that weaker to deal with the uncertainty of future social situations by people who experience uncertainty intolerance (Intolerance of Uncertainty), more anxious when dealing with existing social situations (Social Anxiety). The power of Intolerance Of Uncertainty on Social Anxiety in adolescents is 19.6%.
