- Work engagement is a relationship between employees and company to be fully connected physically, cognitively and emotionally for making employees have positive behaviors, enthusiasm and high dedication to their work. Social support is one of the important things that must be in the company for maintain social ties to employees. Social support behavior condition cam be predicted to reduce the negative impact that fading away the feeling to stay and improve work engagement to optimize employee performance. This study aims at finding out the connection between social support and work engagement from employee. Sampling technique is sampling aksidental technique at PT. Tirta Fresindo Jaya Pasuruan (Mayora Group). The research subject were 150 employee. Data collection was obtained Scale of Social Support that developed by Agustina (2005) and Utrecht Work Engagement Scale (UWES) that developed by Schaufeli et, al (2004). Test analysis using product moment pearson correlation shows that there is a significantly positive relation between social support with work engagement for employee (B =0,574 ; p = 0,000). So the hypothesis is proven by the contribution of social support variables to work engagement by 25.3%
