  • Computer network paradigm called Software Defined Network (SDN) provide convenience for network administrators to manage data traffic because of the separation between the control layer and data transmission. The implementation of a centralized control system model results in a greater tendency to get attacks, for example, a DoS attack. The purpose of this study was to analyze the impact of DoS attacks on targeted controller and SDN-switch to determine the load of the resource produced by setting the number of packet deliveries per second. The results of the study showed that CPU usage on the controller and switch increases. The result proves that the devices in the SDN are very vulnerable to DoS attacks.
