Daftar Isi:
- Pyrophyllite material is one of the mineral source that need to be explored in East Java. This pyrophyllite material is a kind of metamorphic rock with aluminum silicate content. Distribution of pyrophyllite in south Malang, especially in Sumbermanjing. The number of this rock reaches million of tons 20 Ha areas of the mine. The high content silica and small size of the grain and volume of the sockets allow pyrophylliteto be used as an alternatie subtitude for cement. The engineering process of the pyrophyllite material was carried out by the reflux method by diluting 2M NaOH base solution with a temperature of ±100°C. In this study the additions of variations of pyrophyllite as a subtitute for part of cement (cementitious). The composition or variation of the addition of convensional pyrophyllite and pyrophyllite treatment is 0 % , 10 % , 15% , 20 % , 25 % of the cement weight (cementitious). The test carried out include: mortar compressive strength and mortar absorption. The results showed that the engineering process on pyrophyllite material using 2M NaOH activator reduced the absorbance value to 1.02%, at the addition of 25% pyrophyllite treatment. The optimum compressive strength is found in the addition of pyrophyllite treatment of 21,36 Mpa with an increace of 54%. With an increace in the addition of pyrophyllite material, it is recommended for further research with cylindrical speciment.
