HUBUNGAN MOTIVASI MENJADI PERAWAT DENGAN PRESTASI BELAJAR MAHASISWA (Studi Pada Mahasiswa Ilmu Kesehatan Program Keperewatan Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang)

- Background: The number of unemployed people in Indonesia is mixed in a high category, especially nursing graduates, because the absorbed workforce is not comparable to the number of graduates in each year. In addition to capable skills, academic requirements or learning achievement (GPA) are also considered. So, the importance of motivation possessed by students will encourage them to achieve goals and compete in the world of work, and influence the results of learning achievement. Method: The method of this study was non-experimental with Cross Sectional Research. The population in this study were 518 students. The sampling technique using Propotionate Statified Random Sampling which was taken into 221 students by distributing a questioner. Data analyzed by using Spearment Rank. Results: The results of the study showed that the motivation of becoming nurses in the majority of students had moderate motivation as much as 50.7%, while the majority of the learning achievements had very satisfying learning achievements as much as 79.6%. Spearman Rank Test results with the SPSS version 16 program, obtained a value of P = 0.009 <α = 0.05 and the value of r = 0.175 which mean, there is a relationship between motivation to be a nurse towards student achievement. Discussion: Motivation possessed by students will affect the learning outcomes, in addition to motivation, some factors can influence the results of student learning achievement.
