- This research used coconut fiber for composite material because the potential for its utilization was very large and not yet been optimally done in Indonesia. This study aimed to determine the effect of variations in fiber composition towards sound attenuation and porosity. Composite was made 3 variations of coconut fiber composition, namely 40%, 50%, and 60%. The results of the sound attenuation test, composite that has the greatest attenuation power was composite with variation in coconut fiber composition of 60% with an average NAC value of 0.1446. While the highest porosity value was also obtained from composite with variation in coconut fiber composition of 60% with an average porosity value of 28.0663%.
