  • Water is a basic need for human. Along with the population increase, there is more demand of water. One of the effort to address the situation is by having retention basin to collect water. The Sukodono retention basin has a maximum capacity of 1.547 million cubic meter. It utilizes the downstream of Bengawan Solo river water which is located at Sekargadung village with the debit inflow of pumping planning 230 liter/second in order to fulfill the need for drinking water and irrigation for Panceng and Dukun municipalities up to the year 2039. The need of drinking water at peak hour in the year 2039 will be 73.76 liter/second and the irrigation requires a maximum of 250.93 liter/second to cover a 250-Ha area. This study made a simulation of operational pattern planning for the next 25 years, which was the second alternative. The reason of choosing the second inflow alternative operational pattern was because it succeeded to fulfill the outflow need and did not resulting in the downturn of water surface at the retention basin to its minimum operational limit. Besides that, the second alternative operational pattern has more benefit in term of cost compared to the alternative 1.
