- PT Mertex is a textile company that is ISO 9001: 2008 certified. To maintain product quality, a good quality management system is needed. But the implementation of quality management experienced many obstacles. Therefore this study aims to analyze the application of ISO 9001: 2008, identify constraints faced in the implementation of ISO 9001: 2008 and formulate proposed improvements to overcome the obstacles in implementing ISO 9001: 2008. The data used are primary data and data. secondary obtained from the company. Using data using Fishbone diagram and FMEA (Failure Mode of Effect Analysis). Based on the audit at PT Mertex in 2017 there were 8 findings of discrepancies, so that it could be said that the application of ISO 9001: 2008 to PT Mertex had gone well because the findings of the last audit were fewer but needed to be re-evaluated in the future. Alternative strategy to overcome obstacles in the implementation of ISO 9001: 2008, namely the need for employee training, performance evaluation and improvement of SOPs
