- Film Cahaya Dari Timur : Beta Maluku is an Indonesian drama film with the theme of football. The film is set in the Maluku conflict in 1999 until post-conflict in 2006. It tells a true story about the struggle of a motorcycle taxis driver named Sani Tawainella, who struggle to re-create peace in Maluku through football. This film teaches the audience about the meaning from the spirit of unity in a difference, team cohesiveness, hard work, and high motivation are the keys to a great success. This is the background of the researchers to analyze the meaning of the peace message that conveyed in the film. The research objective was to find out how the peace message that conveyed in the film Cahaya Dari Timur : Beta Maluku to the audience. This study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive type of research. The object of research from this study is from MP4 files Film Cahaya Dari Timur : Beta Maluku, with data collection techniques : Documentation and observation. The data analysis technique uses Roland Barthes model by testing the validity of the data using and improve perseverance in research. The results showed that in the film Cahaya Dari Timur: Beta Maluku contains the meaning of the message of peace about, tolerance, unity, and compactness. Three things that exist in football that indirectly united the Moluccas after seven-year long of the conflict.
