  • Background: Changes in the current diet of people increase the occurrence of dyslipidemia. Dyslipidemia is a risk factor for Coronary Heart Disease (CHD). In ketapang leaf extract (Terminalia catappa L.) there are flavonoids which fixing the lipid profile. Objective: To determine the effect of ketapang leaf (Terminalia catappa L.) on changes in lipid profile (HDL, LDL, TG, Total Cholesterol) mouse model of dyslipidemia. Methods: Using true experiments post test only control group design. The data analysis using oneway ANOVA, correlation, and regression test. Result and Discussion: ANOVA oneway test showed significant significance <0,05 so it was concluded that there was a significant difference of mean lipid profile (HDL, LDL, TG, total cholesterol). The correlation test results showed total cholesterol (r = -0.319, p = 0.030), TG (r = -0.232, p = 0.015) and LDL (r = -0.391, p = 0.001) had significant correlation (p <0.05) with Negative correlation direction, meaning the higher dose of ketapang leaf extract will lower total cholesterol, LDL, and TG. In contrast, HDL (r = 0.475, p = 0.000) has a positive correlation direction which means that higher dose of ketapang leaf extract will increase HDL levels. Conclusion: Giving Ketapang leaf extract (Terminalia catappa L.) can increase HDL and decrease LDL, TG, and total cholesterol.
