- IDD was an intellectual developmental disorder with a lack of conceptual, practical and social functions during development period. Social skills were needed by individuals to create relationship, skills, solve problems and produce harmonization in society. With these limitations, mild IDD children need more assistance to improve social skills because mild IDD children were still capable to educate. This research used research and development method that develop a modified model of snakes and ladders named socio snake and ladder (SSL). The aim was to test the worthiness of the SSL model to improve social skills of mild IDD children. SSL used game participants as its token with a 3x3 meter game area. The content in this game was adapted from social skill aspects and mild IDD children ability. The subjects consisted of 10 children aged 9-12 years, divided into control group and experimental group. Data analysis used quantitative and qualitative analysis through Wilcoxon test, Mann Whitney and expert judgment. The results showed that socio snake and ladder improved social skills of mild IDD children.
