Civil engineering (General)</subject><description>Train station is where passenger get in and get off the train as one of the means of transportation. This study aims at finding out the service provided in term of waiting room at Sidoarjo train station in the year 2018 and 2023, and also to find out the solution of waiting room lay out at Sidoarjo train station in relation with the suitability of Standardization Guideline of Indonesian Train Station year 2012. This study applied static survey conducted at particular points by observing and logging information of each facility at Sidoarjo train station. In 2018, the public waiting room had an effective space of 47 m2 and its maximum passenger capacity was 0.49 m2/passenger. The supporting facility that has effect towards the public waiting room density was the Automatic Ticket Vending Machine with its queue line reached 3 m2 which was equal with 5.1% of the public waiting room, and the Ticket Checking Entrance with its queue line reached 9 m2 which was equal with 15.25% of the public waiting room. In general, the passenger movement was 42 m2 per departure and its average room occupant was 1.12 m2/passenger.
