- Students with autism have difficulties in communicating by the use of verbal language. Autistic students usually communicate with non verbal language by using the gesture. Gestural communication that they show usually aim to express what they want and feel. Students with autism usually show their gesture communication to people who have an affinity with their Research aims to describe and learn gestural communication are clearly autistic students with teachers teaching in the process of learning at school Superb Stanford University Laboratory of Autism. This research uses the theory of theory of Kinesics and Context by Ekman and Friesen and also social Penetration theory by Irwin Daltman and Dalmas Taylor. Where is the Kinesics theory and Context here to sort the seven assumptions which form the basis of the theory of body language. This study used a Qualitative research approach, naturalistic research with type descriptive. This study used a purposive sampling technique with some criteria that have been set, so getting 3 of the subjects (autistic students) and 1 teacher of teachers. This research uses data collection techniques of observation, interview, and also documentation. The results of this research show that autistic students' gestural communication in the learning process is very diverse and varies according to the characteristics possessed by any of the subjects. Students with autism more frequently using a hand gesture to communicate. In addition, the closeness between teachers and students with autism became one of the important factors in communication gestural, where teachers must be able to build closeness with autistic students so that the autistic students want to show the gesture and was able to follow all the instructions given by the teacher when learning at school.
