- Teaching pronunciation for English for young learners (EYL) is different from teaching adolescent or adult people. Pronunciation is one of the most difficult aspects in learning English because of the different target language and the mother tongue of learner (Shak, Lee, & Stephen, 2016). So in teaching pronunciation for young learners, it needs the certain teaching techniques. The research problems in this research was what are the techniques used by the teachers, the teachers’ problems, and the way teachers solve the problems in teaching pronunciation in EYL class at six grade. The research objectives in this research were to identify the techniques in teaching pronunciation, the teachers’ problems, and the way teachers solve the problems in teaching pronunciation in EYL class at sixth grade. The method used in this research was qualitative research. The subjects in this research were three teachers in EYL class in sixth grade. The technique for collecting the data was document analysis and the semi-structured interview. The instruments used notes for analyzing the videos, and interview guideline. The result of this research showed that the teachers used three techniques in teaching pronunciation, those are; initial, remedial, and drilling techniques. The problems faced by the teachers were incorrect intonation and word stress, mispronunciation of the words, and the different voiceless stop consonant. In order to solve the problems, teachers used electronic dictionary, online dictionary, and google translate, did not in rush while pronouncing the words, imitated the native speaker, and practice in pronouncing the problematic words. In sum, the teachers faced the problems in pronunciation, but they also has solutions to cope the problems.
