  • In the welding process, the movement of the electrode or welding swing effect on the mechanical properties of the weld. This study discusses the effect of spiral and zig-zag wire swing on the strength of Pull steel ST 37 using weld with E 7016 electrode. The method used is experimental method with steel welding (SMAW, electronic E 7016), using spiral welding swing and zig - zag. The research here uses quantitative research and objective statistical analysis. Based on the result of the research of the spiral welding and zig zag wing used has real effect to the value of tensile test result, the value of spiral welding tensile test is 0.393 kgf /〖mm〗^2 and the value of zigzag zigzag pull test is 0.398 kgf /〖mm〗^2 and without welding the value of the tensile test result is 0.385 kgf /〖mm〗^2. The highest value of the tensile test results on the zigzag welding swing of 0.398 kgf /〖mm〗^2. Conversely the lowest test result value 0.385 kgf /〖mm〗^2 occurs on raw material (no welding).
