- This legal writing has a purpose to find out how the implementation of diversion in the level of investigation in an effort to protect children who commit acts of violence in the Batu City Police Station and also what obstacles arise in its implementation. Research location at Batu City Police Station. This legal research is a descriptive empirical research, the data collection techniques used by the author are interviews and library research in the form of books, legislation, documents, the internet and so forth. Data analysis uses qualitative data analysis with interactive models. The results of the study of the problems raised by the author, can be concluded that, First regarding the implementation of diversion at the level of investigation in the effort to protect children as suspects committing acts of violence, among others: (1) by giving informal warnings to children who commit crimes; (2) but also provides formal warnings to parents or guardians; (3) provide compensation for compensation to the children in conflict with the law in accordance with the agreement of both parties; and (4) providing community services to children in conflict with the law as an effort to restore the child's condition. Second, the obstacles that arise in the diversion process at the investigation level in the effort to protect children as suspects who commit crimes, are: children find it difficult to be honest with the crime, the victim's family does not want the suspect to be released, lack of understanding of the concept of diversion in the community complicating the investigation process, it is difficult to determine the level of losses suffered by victims.
