- Regional head election in Tarakan city causes political conflicts due to Hanura party supports two candidates to be elected in regional head election. In Regulation of General Election Commission, one party which supports two candidates at the same time and place is not justified. From that phenomenon, it can be seen how Hanura party recruits candidate for mayor. The method used in this research was descriptive qualitative to describe political conflict in regional head election of Tarakan city in 2018. The techniques of collecting data were conducted by observing, interviewing, and documenting. The theory used was political conflict from Fisher that emphasizes tool to analyze the situation of conflict, such as staging conflict. The research result shows that dualism happened in Hanura party, so that the impact of dualism caused in regional head election of Tarakan city where it happened to supporting parties of each candidate to be elected in regional head election in the name of Hanura party. In conclusion, political conflict in regional head election is caused by supporting two candidates at the same time. However, the researcher suggests especially for Hanura party as the institution representative from community to be more professional and more addressing public and personal interest that have bad impacts for public.
