- Every human being in its activities certainly have a different problem, One of them is the elementary school child. Importance of the problem solving ability of a person's life is to find a solution. Problem solving ability can be improved through traditional game of hopscotch. The purpose of this study to determine the influence of the traditional game of hopscotch for improved problem solving ability in children of primary school age. Problem solving is important to study because of good problem solving will make children able to solve systematic and logical solutions, one of which is through traditional games. This study uses a quasi experimental research design using a within subjects, with subjects as many as 27 students / i were divided into 3 groups: the experimental group A, B experimental and control groups. Subjects were given treatment only play groups A and B, while the control group was not given treatment. Scale research instrument in the form of problem solving are given before treatment and after treatment, data were analyzed using paired samples t-test. From the results of the study showed an increase in problem solving capabilities significantly in the experimental group A (t=-6.860, p=0.00) and the experimental groupB (t=3.705, p=0.06), whereas the control group was not significant improvement(t=1.696, p=0.128). Thus, it can be concluded that the traditional game of hopscotch payung and pa'a improve problem solving in primary school age children
