Daftar Isi:
- The research was designed to describe the conceptual understanding and students' self-efficacy in solving geometry problems. Geometry became the focus of discussion because geometry had a greater opportunity to understand by students compared to other branches of mathematics. This research based on observation and interview. Researcher found that there were students who still did not understand the concept and realized the ability to self (Self Efficacy) about the geometry. Measurement of students' understanding of the concept was based on three aspects: translation, interpretation, and extrapolation. While in students' self-efficacy, it can be seen by three aspects: the level, strength, and generality. In this research, the researcher used descriptive qualitative to analyze the data. The research was conducted in class IX-G SMP Negeri 11 Malang. The subjects of this research consisted of four students by test understanding of concepts and three students based on self-efficacy questionnaire. Then, subjects were divided into grouped in each category such as very high, high, and low based on the results of written tests, questionnaires, and interviews that have been granted. The result of this study shows that students' understanding of concepts in geometry problem solving IX-G grade students of SMPN 11 Malang included into the category of understanding the concept. While, self-efficacy in solving geometry problems included into high self-efficacy category.
