- The intercity public transportation with route RonggosukowatiPamekasan Terminal –Arya WirarajaSumenep plays a crucial role in facilitating people due to the significantly high economic growth. The set price should be based on the vehicle operating cost by concerning on the business sustainability and development of the transportation service provider. The operational cost of a public transport vehicle is one form of research that knows something fundamental about the emergence of problems in the field with several approaches using indicators as a basis for research on the results of evaluations. Inter-city bus public transportation is one of the transportation services that has a role to improve public transportation in various regions. As the component prices of the vehicle operating cost change, there is a need of fare evaluation. This study aimed to evaluate the bus fare based on the set vehicle operating cost. The method used in this study was adopting the Decree of the Minister of Transportation Number KM. 89 Year 2002 pertaining to the Mechanism of Fare Setting and the Calculation Formula of Vehicle Operating Cost with Intercity Bus and the Decree of Directorate General of Land Transportation Number SK. 687/AJ.206DRJD/2002 Pertaining to the Technical Guidelines of the Provision of Public Transportation. The set fare is IDR 10.000 for public and IDR 8.000 for students. The results showed that the Vehicle Operating Cost was IDR 125.928.960/vehicle – year.
