  • Learning media has an important role in teaching and learning process, that is as an intermediary between the teachers and students in delivering the material. However, the fact observed in the field shows that the use of instructional media in Javanese language subject, especially for the material of Javanese script on third grade of State Elementary School of Tunggulwulung 1 Malang is still considered low, both in the procurement and use. Based on the preliminary study done before, it can be seen that the only supporting factors in learning Javanese language on third grade were only textbook and student worksheet. However, the use of printed teaching material has proven unable to motivate the students in recognizing and learning Javanese script, thus an innovative way was required to overcome this problem. One of the ways was through the development of learning media. This research referred to the developmental research. The developmental model used was ADDIE model which consisted of five stages: analyze, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The data collection techniques used were interview, observation, questionnaire, and documentation, whereas the data analysis techniques used were qualitative and quantitative. The results of this research showed that the Pandawa media was feasible to be used as the learning media, with a percentage of feasibility of 93,3% was obtained from the material validator and 96,7% was from the media validator. The Pandawa media included very good criteria with such a large percentages. Besides, the Pandawa media was also proved effective to be used in the learning process. It could be seen from the students evaluation test average score that had gone beyond the minimum passing criteria, which reached 93,8. The result of the students responses questionnaire also showed that the Pandawa media got very good responses from the students, with the percentage reached out 95,3%.
