  • The phenomenon of Chipping on the alloy titanium is considered bad because it has the tendency of snarled that stick to the cutting tool. This complicates the process of eating on the lathe, thus damaging the quality of the surface. While the quality of the surface material can be improved with the use of liquid cooling method. The use of liquid chemicals in the process of turning titanium is considered still a lot of risks so that this research using bio-oil as a cutting fluid. This research use castor oil as a cutting fluid and dromus oil as a comparison, to the process of lathe Ti 6246. Research carried out by varying the use of castor oil and dromus oil each diemulsikan with water. Testing done is surface roughness (surface roughness value), shape and surface temperatures snarled during the process of lathe. Final results showed the use of castor oil with low cut speeds have surface roughness value of 0.562 μm, the opposite of roughness obtained 0.859 μm dromus on use of oil. The best temperature conditions when both are present in the oil are mixed with 15:15 comparison. Furious that resulted from this research that is serrated chips or also called segmented the jagged and semi nonhomogeneus continue.
