- This thesis aimed to describe the adoption of TTW (Think Talk Write) and realistic approach to the study of mathematics. Student activity by applying the motivation of students in math learning methods Think Talk Write TTW.Methods TTW (Think Talk Write) with a realistic approach to the study of mathematics and students critical thinking skills and communication skills to resolve problems in the application of TTW (Think Talk Write) and realistic approach to learning Mathematics. Methods used include, type of research that will be used in this research is descriptive research with quantitative and qualitative approaches. Subjects in this study were students of class VII SMP Muhammadiyah Malang 4 with object 10. The results of this study indicate that the application of the method TTW (Think Talk Write) and realistic approach has worked well, demonstrated by the acquisition of an average score of teacher activity by implementing the steps of the method TTW (Think Talk Write) with the realistic approach of 3.31 %. Students' motivation on average by 76.27%.Critical thinking skills students gain an average score of 78.44 in both categories, with details as follows: Translating obtained an average score of 79.12%, Interpretation obtain an average score of 69.2% and Extrapolation obtained an average score 78.44%, while communication with both categories, the details: Oral with an average score of 84.20% whereas understood Posts 75.40% with good categories.
