Daftar Isi:
  • In 2013, Indonesia produced 2,192,928 tons of mango or around 10.87% of the total national fruit. Whereas there was an increase in mango production in 2014, Indonesia produced 2,431,330 tons of mango or around 12.28 percent of the total national fruit production. The mango production center in Indonesia is Java Island. The largest mango producing province is East Java with a production of around 922,727 tons or 37.95% of the total national mango production, followed by Central Java and West Java. This abundant production occurs from October to December. This results in the abundant production of mangoes during the harvest season (on season) while there is a reduction in the production of mangoes outside the harvest season (off season). Paklobutrazol is able to induce the appearance of flowers by inhibiting giberelin biosynthesis. The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of various concentrations of paklobutrazol on flowering of mango plants (Mangifera indica L.) Garifta Merah. This study used a Simple Randomized Block Design (RBD) with a concentration of Paklobutrazol (P0 = Control; P1 = 2 ml / L; P2 = 4 ml / L; P3 = 6 ml / L; P4 = 8 ml / L; P5 = 10 ml / L). Data in the comparative test using the BNJ Test at the level of 5%. The results of the study on flowering showed that Paklobtrazol in all concentrations had a very significant effect on the time of flowering, number of flowering plants, panicle length, panicle width, number of panicle children, planting fruit, perennial fruit, number of flowering plants and fruit weight. On the parameters of flower emergence, administration of Paklobutrazol at a concentration of 6 ml / L had the fastest time when flowers appeared, although there was no significant difference in the treatment of 4 ml / L, 8 ml / L and 10 ml / L. From all parameters of time at flowering, length, width, number of panicles, number of flowers per plant, number of fruits per panicle and number of fruits per plant and treatment without administration of paklobutrazol (Control) showed the lowest average yield. Paklobtrazol in all concentrations had a very significant effect on the time of flower appearance, number of flowering plants, panicle length, panicle width, number of panicle children, planting fruit, perennial fruit and fruit weight.
