- Corrosion or rusting is an event of damage or deterioration in the quality of metal caused by a reaction to the environment. Corrosion velocity calculations are carried out based on the weight loss method by conducting ST 37 steel welding research soaked with seawater as a medium. From the results of the study, the highest corrosion rate was experienced by E6010 electrode with the non-sandpaper treatment of 2.3280 mph, while the lowest corrosion rate was E7016 electrode with non-sandpaper treatment which was 1.0553 mph. The larger the electrode, the smaller the rate of corrosion that occursi.
