- The background of this research is based on the observation conducted by the researcher at Junior High School of Muhammadiyah 8 Batu. The lecture method is used as the learning process in the class which makes passive students. Therefore, an interactive instructional media is needed in order to stimulate the students in being active in the learning process. Adobe Flash is one of the software to design an instructional media. The objective of this study is to develop an interactive instructional media using Adobe Flash in a form of the game at geometry lesson and analyze the effectiveness of the media. The research conducted by the researcher is a research and development type of research. The media development is started with potential and problem phase, data collection, product design, design validation, design revision, and product trial. The questionnaire validation for expert and the questionnaire of teacher and students’ response are both used as the instruments of the study. As the result, the validity of the media is based on the validation questionnaire analysis; the result is valid. On the other hand, the effectiveness of the media is based on the questionnaire of teacher students’ response; the result is effective. As for the further researchers, the researcher suggests adding more levels at the game and making it can be accessed online.
