- Teaching preparation is an important part of teaching where teachers prepare the instructional design that improves teaching and learning. Therefore, teachers needed teaching preparation, so that the learning process would run effectively. The research investigated how do the teachers prepare English lesson at SMA Negeri 1 Singosari-Malang. This research defined Teaching Preparation by English Teachers at SMA Negeri 1 Singosari-Malang. It was intended to gain the procedures of teaching preparation by English teachers at SMA Negeri 1 Singosari-Malang. In this research, the researcher used qualitative methods to retrieve data about teaching preparation. The subjects of this research were three English teachers at SMA Negeri 1 Singosari-Malang. After analyzing the data, there were three procedures found in this research: identifying teaching objectives (lesson plan), selecting content which is consistent with the teaching (teaching media), and selecting ways to achieve teaching objective (teaching technique).
