- One community group that uses medicinal plants is the local community in Uyelewun Foothill. The driving factors for the use of medicinal plants are due to the abundance of diversity of natural resources and limited health services. Even so, the lack of planting of medicinal plants and the development of technological flows are feared to fade the existence and original knowledge of the community regarding medicinal plants. The purpose of this research is to obtain information about the use of medicinal plants by the Uyelewun community, including: plant species, utilization of various aspects, methods of processing and use, and benefits in healing diseases. This research was conducted on Desa Panama, Meluwiting, Loyobohor, Leudanung, Balauring and Wairiang. The respondents were selected by using Purpose Sampling and Snowball Sampling in the form of local people, traditional healers, and elders. The stages of the implementation of this research were carried out by: survey location research, interview, documentation, and plant inventory. The data is analyzed by using Content Analysis. The results showed that there were 82 types of medicinal plants used by the Uyelewun community. The benefits of medicinal plants obtained by the Uyelewun community include health sector (82 species), food sector (40 species), cultivation sector (61 species), income, and customs sector (4 species). The processing of medicinal plants is done by boiling, kneading, pounding, squeezing, being shredded, cooked into vegetables, brewed, crushed, burned, dried, chewed, scraped / scraped, heated by the fire, processed into oil, and without processing. The use of medicinal plants for the outer body are by sticking, polishing, bathing, rubbing, washing, spraying, and dropping, while for use in the inner body are by sticking, drinking, eating, chewing, sucking, and dropping. There are 80 health disorders grouped into 23 groups of diseases.
