  • Government programs in an effort to meet national food needs, especially rice, are continuously carried out. Through technological innovation and the application of programs to improve farm management, considering rice as a staple food for the majority of the people of Indonesia. Efforts to achieve food self-sufficiency targets, especially rice farming, are faced with the risk of uncertainty as a result of the negative impact of climate change that is detrimental to farmers. The government helped seek farming protection in the form of agricultural insurance, to overcome farmers' losses. Agricultural insurance is a risk transfer that can provide compensation due to loss of farming, so that the sustainability of farming can be guaranteed. Through insurance, rice farming guarantees damage to crops due to floods, droughts, and attacks of pests and diseases or plant pest organisms (OPT), so farmers will receive compensation as working capital for the continuity of their farming. This study aims to: (1) Know the factors that influence farmers' decisions following AUTP (2) The attitude of farmers to AUTP. This research was conducted in the village of Brumbun, Maduran District, Lamongan Regency in July 2018 until completion. Determination of the sample in this study was conducted by purposive method with a total of 40 respondents. The data used in this study comes from primary data. The analysis used is logistic and descriptive regression analysis. The results of this study are long-term farming and the number of family members does not affect the farmers' decision to follow AUTP. Factors that influence farmers' decision to follow AUTP are land area. Farmers in Brumbun Village, Maduran District, Lamongan Regency have a good attitude towards AUTP. This means that farmers receive the existence of the program well.
