  • The role of the industrial sector as a mainstay sector in contributing to the economy in various regions. The industrial sector have a very important role in creating the employment, because of it is ability to absorb a lot of labor and develop the industrial sector that will encourage the development in other sectors. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the amount of effort, investment value, and minimum wage level on the absorption of labor in the City of Malang. This research uses multiple regression analysis method using time series data from 2003-2017. The variables used in this research are the number of small and medium-sized business units (IKM) in Malang City, the value of investment in Malang City, the data of workers who work in a small and medium-sized industries (IKM) in Malang City, and the City Minimum Wage (UMK). The data is in the form of secondary data sourced from Malang City Disperin, and Manpower Office of Malang City. This research also uses multiple regression analysis method using eviews software 9.0. The results of the analysis showed that the variable number of small and medium-sized business units in IKM in Malang City (UNIT) had a significant and positive influence on the variable employment in small and medium industries in Malang. The investment in Malang City (INVEST) has a negative influence and has a significant effect on the variable employment in the small and medium industries at Malang City. The value of the City Minimum Wage (UMK) has a negative and significant influence on the variable employment in the small and medium industries in the City of Malang.
