- The way how to deliver the material done by the teacher is one of the factors which is influencing the success of student learning. The delivering of an interesting material can be done with help by using learning media. Learning media is an object that mediates the delivering of subject matter, it goes with the purpose students are interested and easily understanding the material presented. Comics is one of visual-based learning media that is popular and can increase reading interest of students. This study aims to produce comics developed as a mathematics learning media in Junior High School class VII in comparative subject material, and to identify the response and student learning outcomes after using the comic as mathematics learning media in Junior High School class VII in comparative subject material. The development this comic as a mathematics learning media used 4-D development stage, but here it was only done the 3 stages namely: define stages was done to determine the topic of the problem to be studied, it was done by observing the learning process in the classroom. This process also supported by the interview with one of the Junior High School class VII mathematics teacher. The design stage is a stage of designing the comics as a mathematics learning media that should accordance with the Basic Competence that is used. The development stage consists of three stages of validation, revision and testing. The validation stage was tested by two subject material validators which resulted an average total value of 3.625 with a very valid category and two media validators which resulted total average value of 3.47 with valid categories. The revisions were based on media validation results: title changing, improvements of Basic Competence page display, improvements of less realistic image, additional of author info as well as some writing errors and sentences correction. The tests conducted on 22 subjects who were the students at MTs. Miftahul Ulum Singosari in class VII B which resulted student responses is very positive with a total percentage of 92%. The learning outcomes obtained by all subjects have scored above the minimum mastery criteria 75 used by schools.
