- Background : Diabetes Mellitus type II characterized by low response of insulin on the tissue with the receptor called insulin resistance. This condition make increased total cholesterol levels in plasma. Mangiferin in Mangifera indica (MI) have effect to decrease absorption of lipid in liver with the combination kuarsetin and fiber in Abelmoschus esculentus (AE) have effect to derease cholesterol total and LDL to controlled diet people with diabetes. Objective : The aim of the research is to know the influence of ethanol leaves extract Mangifera indica and squeezed fruit Abelmoschus esculentus also decreased total cholesterol in plasma. Method : The method of this study is experimental study with using post test only control group design, which is used 36 rats and divided to become 6 group randomly, devide to healthy control, negative control, positive control (with simvastatin dosage 0,18 mg/200g and glibenklamid 0,09 mg/200 g), P1 group (MI 125 mg/kgBB and AE 0,36 ml/200g), P2 group (MI 125 mg/kgBB and AE 0,36 ml/200g), and P3 group (MI 125 mg/kgBB and AE 0,36 ml/200g). Statistical analysis with One way ANOVA. Result : The result of ANOVA test is showing has significant differences values 0,00 and 0,00 (p < 0,05) between P1 and P2 group with P3 to decreased total cholesterol . But between P1 and P2 group hasn’t significant difference to decreased cholesterol with the values 0,080 (p > 0,05). Conclusion : The result shows that the etthanol leaves MI extract and squeezed fruit AE can decreased total cholesterol of Rattus novergicus with optimum dosages the ethanol leaves MI extract 500 mg/kgBB and squeezed fruit AE 0,36 ml/200gBB.
